CDL, winners of the 2013 Subsea Industry Innovation & Technical Award, will kick-off this year’s SSTB Conference in San Antonio, with the introduction of their new generation Subsea Vibration and Motion Monitoring System.  VIBRIUS consists of a very powerful product grouping that includes a number of logging sensors that offer high accuracy data while utilizing very low power making them highly suitable for battery powered long term installations.  In addition, a control module based on the powerful OMAP processor from Texas instruments can provide complex algorithmic calculations and data storage as well as data offload via acoustic and optical modems.
VIBRIUS offers a powerful and flexible solution to many subsea vibration and motion monitoring applications.  The small size of the sensor allows easy fitting at multiple points along risers for applications where analysis of Vortex Induced Vibration (VIV) is required.  For pipeline monitoring, the units can be easily installed at mounting points along the pipeline and the collected data recovered directly from the sensors by an ROV mounted optical modem.
